Organ Recital

For over a century one of the finest organs in this country has been played to enhance the services at St. Columba’s United Reformed Church in Priory Street. Now this 1906 Lewis organ has been substantially refurbished by A.J. Carter, Professional Organ Building Services, Wakefield. Organist at St Columba’s, Steven Hartley, is quoted as saying that this organ produces a splendid sound and deserves a wide audience.

To inaugurate the new stage in the organ’s life a recital will be held at St. Columba’s at 4.00p.m. on Sunday 31st May.  The church is very fortunate that the new organ will be played by one of Britain’s finest organists, Simon Lindley, the City of Leeds organist.

Admission is free and all are welcome. Those who wish to contribute to the organ restoration fund may do so via a retiring collection.
