Riding Lights Theatre Company ‘Reality Cheques’ 26th February 2009

When was the last time something stopped you in your tracks and made you think again?

That is the question asked by the five multi-talented young Roughshod actors of Riding Lights Theatre Company. 

Reality Cheques draws on the compelling drama of everyday life, delivering an altogether different kind of ‘bounce’!  From a bank of colourful stories that capture those unforgettable moments of life, Reality Cheques presents an economy of lasting value.   These hilarious, moving and sharply-focused snapshots provide a turning point; a tiny revolution that spins you round and points to a new direction.

For sixteen years Riding Lights professional touring theatre company Roughshod have taken their brand of high energy theatre with a spiritual heart to all kinds of places where live theatre is rare.  From inner city Glasgow to the rural Forest of Dean the actors bring a repertoire of shows and workshops to schools, churches, prisons, bases of the armed forces, the streets, town halls, cathedrals and arts centres.   Reaching an annual live audience of around 65,000 adults and children it has been acclaimed from Belfast to Brixton for creating powerful new pieces of theatre allowing young people and the young at heart have come together to chuckle and cheer, to gasp and sigh and generally get things into a more eternal perspective.

The actors in this year’s company; Jamie Higgins, J. Moore, Alison Daly-Bell, Leah Burrows and Rachel Wilcock aim to provide an illuminating, funny and uplifting performance to provide a ‘check’ point for all kinds of people.
