Monday 20th October
10–11.30am “The Church Mice Chronicles” with local writer, musician and storyteller Miles Cain at All Saints Pavement Church. A creative writing workshop for children aged 6-11, accompanying adults welcome. Creative writing sessions are designed to get you scribbling, and are fun and thought-provoking. Tuesday 21st October
10.30-11.30am York’s Christian Heroes An interactive walk for children aged around 9-11 years. Starting at the Minster, home of battling bishops and location of the statue of Constantine the Great, the walk goes on through the bloodstained Shambles where Margaret Clitherow, executed by the Terrible Tudors, lived and sheltered Catholic Priests. Covering sixteen centuries the walk uncovers persecution, healings, murders, faith, orators, evangelists and social vision. Worksheets and a cut out model of Margaret Clitherow’s house will be provided with prizes for the best set of completed worksheets and the best assembled model at the end of the Jewels of York festival.
1-4pm Craft Activities and Storytelling at All Saints North Street based on Bible Stories with Mary Callan. Everyone welcome, prior booking not required, just come along on the day! Each session will last one hour. 7.30pm Healing and Spirituality Group with Harp Therapy led by Emma Yates Butler, St Saviourgate Unitarian Chapel. Individuals will be able to try using small harps. People of all ages and circumstances can benefit from the Therapeutic Harp. Everyone welcome (Adults £4.50, Concessions £2).
Wednesday 22nd October
10am-12noon Jacobs Well Coffee Morning, Trinity Lane, Micklegate.
11.30-1pm Adults Christian Heritage Walk (£3 per person) A fascinating journey around the centre of York to explore and celebrate the lives of men and women whose Christian faith, over 16 centuries, had a lasting effect on life in the city. Meet by Constantine’s Statue, York Minster at 11.25am.
Thursday 23rd October
10am Unique guided tour of Bar Convent by Sr Agatha Leach, with a special viewing of the holy relic of the hand of Margaret Clitherow, the secret hidden chapel, the
Parlour, the Museum, the Bar Convent school and the sisters of the Congregation of Jesus. There is no charge for this tour but please book in advance by calling 01904 643238. Meet at Reception in the Entrance Hall 10am, ready for a 10.15am start.

Saturday 25th October
The Shrine & Parish Church of All Saints North Street described as “York’s finest Medieval Church” and site of the famous York Visions – Church open all day with special events including;
10.30am Guided Tour of the famous stained glass windows.
11.30am Chance to visit the Shrine.
2.15pm Guided Tour of the famous stained glass windows.
3.15pm Archaeological update.
2.30pm Organ Recital by Cynthia Wood (York) at Holy Trinity Micklegate.
Sunday 26th October
2.30-3.30pm Music and Words “A guide to the King of Instruments”, Central Methodist Church. Philip Paul, the organist at Central Methodist and Secretary of York and District Organists’ Association, will demonstrate the many different sounds of the huge 2500 pipe organ and, explain how it works and how it has changed since its installation in 1841.
3pm Animal Service at St Saviourgate Unitarian Chapel An opportunity to celebrate animals that have had a special meaning to us. Pets welcome with their humans!
Monday 27th October
10.30–11.30am and 2–3pm Family Storytelling in the Church with local writer, musician and storyteller Miles Cain at All Saints Pavement. Miles will be telling well-loved stories including Rumplestiltskin and George and The Dragon. He’ll also be tackling the story of Jonah and the Whale! Children are encouraged to take part, and props are provided. Adults and family members are very welcome to come and watch. Please call 01904 619489 to book.

10.30am–12.30pm and 1.30- 3.30pm Artspace Children’s Art Workshop. Art workshops at All Saints Pavement with Qualified Teacher using different techniques including pastels, charcoal and Indian ink. Finished work to be included in a ‘Young Artists’ Winter Show’ in January in York City Centre Churches. (Due to the popularity of this event places are limited; please call 01904 619489 to book).

All Saints North Street Patronal Festival – The Church will be open all day. 3.30pm Vespers and Benediction with the Bishop of Whitby.
12.30–1.30pm Lunchtime Music provided by Phillip Mindenhall and Friends at St Saviourgate Unitarian Chapel (Adults £5, Concessions. £3 followed by refreshments).
2.30pm Organ Recital by Dr Francis Jackson FRCO (Organist Emeritus York Minster) at Holy Trinity Micklegate.
