Christians in Communication is the working title of The North Yorkshire and District Christian Broadcasting Council (Charity No. 512656).
Founded around1980, in recent years CinC has been fairly low key in its area of work but that will be changing from 01 July 2013!
York City Centre Churches Care and Development Trust, the ecumenical charitable trust better known under its working name of CoRE, wound up at the end of June after seven years hard work. CoRE had been responsible for many initiatives on behalf of the churches in York city centre. Fortunately much of this work will continue, as CoRE has given us the very popular Friday Mailing – the email guide to what’s on in the churches and Christian organisations – plus its remaining assets and intellectual property.
CoRE has been restricted by its terms of reference to operating only within the city of York.
On the other hand Christians in Communication has the whole of North Yorkshire as its territory. The needs and opportunities of both bodies have found themselves to be running in parallel for some time, and so the natural outcome of those shared interests has been that they should pool their resources under a wider brief for Christians in Communications.
So, on the 30th June, it was ‘Goodbye and thanks to all who have supported CoRE’s work’ and from 1st July it was ‘Hello and welcome to a newly invigorated Christians in Communications’
We very much look forward to collaborating with you in the future
Revd Simon Stanley, Chairman
